ive been gone for a long time, i hope somebody still watches me, else my writing will be in vain. I would like to say happy new year for not only the year 2009 but also the year of 2008 cause i havent written a single thing in about 2 years.

I would like to point out some kind of political issue, which is in my opinion incorrect and would like to know what you think about it.

There is a rule in the netherlands that if a civillian wants an item to be discussed in politics he or she needs t get a petition signed for 40,000 times together with the issue he or she wants to discuss.

In this specific case the petitioner wanted to discuss the fact if fireworks should be forbidden to be used by normal people, because there are always a lot of injuries or casualities accompanied by it.

On itself a valid reason and she got the 40,000 autograph, hence it will be discussed in the politics.

Well heres the point, while its being placed on the agenda the minister already said there will be no such prohibitation.

Now for my question. Can a responsible person (in this case the minister) already have an opinion of such impact (the petitioner spended days maybe weeks to get all the autographs), without it is being discussed?

It is my personal opinion that its an political error, it should be discussed first before such a responsible person may react on such request. Because the minister is such a responsible person, she might already going into the discussion biased or influence other people already by condemning the topic before it was discussed.
